Becon, a startup founded by former Samsung executive Minsuk Park, showcased its innovative scalp diagnosis program at KES 2022.
Having personally experienced hair loss since his 20s, Park, who spent 12 years at Samsung Electronics, launched Becon in late 2020. His journey began with Samsung's C-Lab program, where he developed a solution for personalized hair care.
Becon's AI-powered solution analyzes scalp conditions and recommends tailored hair care products. After successfully showcasing a prototype at CES 2020 and winning the Top 10 Smart Device award at KITAS, Park established Beacon to help individuals regain confidence in their hair.
Samsung's C-Lab played a pivotal role in Becon's growth. The program provides startups with resources, mentorship, and opportunities to showcase their innovations at global events like KES. This year, C-Lab dedicated a separate exhibition space at KES 2022, featuring both internal and external startups.
Becon was one of four C-Lab spin-offs that exhibited at KES 2022. Other spin-offs, like Linkflow and Medipresso, also received recognition for their innovative products.
Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Jong-Hee Han emphasized the company's commitment to nurturing IT startups.
"We will continue to support talented IT startups to foster mutual growth with Samsung Electronics," he said.
